There was a horrific mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, USA on October 25, 2023. 18 people were killed and 13 injured. The Synth Club of Southern Maine, led by folks like Patrick Carey and Ron Harrity, assembled a compilation of recordings from members to publish on a pay-what-you-want scheme to raise money for those affected.

We will be giving all proceeds to the Maine Community Foundation. Click here for more information about the fund we’re contributing to. And consider giving them funds directly if you’re so moved. As of mid-December, 2023, over $1000 had been raised.

My track on this comp was recorded in my kitchen in Dublin on November 6, 2023. It is my arrangement of the tune “Slane”. “Slane” is an old Irish tune which has been used to set several hymns including “Lord of All Hopefulness” by Jan Struther and “Be Thou My Vision”, a translation of the medieval Irish poem “Rop tú mo Baile”.

You can see the full track list and listen to it below:

Many good friends of mine are on this comp, and it’s really moving to see all our names next to one another’s.
