This is a broad overview of my activities as a composer, performer, and sound artist.

Solo Work

Most recently, I contributed a piece to a benefit compilation raising money for those affected by a mass shooting in Lewiston, Maine, USA:

My solo work ranges from fingerstyle guitar in the tradition of players like John Fahey and Robbie Basho, through songs for voice and guitar (owing much to artists like Joni Mitchell and Judee Sill). I also work with field recordings (recently in collaboration with the artist and writer, Éireann Lorsung), electronics, and computer software like Pure Data and SuperCollider.

Some of my music is published on my Bandcamp page.

In the early days of the pandemic I contributed this improvisation to a benefit compilation:

So Said So

My most recent band project, So Said So is a punk band along the lines of groups like Boston’s Karate and Louisville’s The For Carnation.

Some Performances

I had the great privilege of playing bass with my friend and teacher, Gustavo Aguilar, for a few performances celebrating Max Roach’s We Insist!. One of these performances was documented and is available to view below.

For several years I played guitar for a noisy punk band called Family Planning. We had the pleasure to play many shows with some of our favourite bands. Here is an excerpt from a performance we did with the band Deerhoof in Boston.
